OH HAPPY DAY!!!! 4.2 arrived

Glenn Tomas made my day! No, maybe my month! I've been traveling all day and did not know 4.2 had been released!!! Glenn took the time to make sure that I knew today was THE DAY!!! I knew he was a keeper when we hired him on in Student Life!

Yes, Apple finally released the long awaited iOS update. Multitasking is a reality! So...guess who will be up all night...multitasking!!!!!

Oh, it is Christmas early for me.

Now, lets just hope 4.2 lives up to the hype...unlike the stupid Beatles announcement.

Filmon.com

Cali transplants checkout my latest find: www.film on.com! Awesome and free! At least for now! And a way to watch flash on iPad!

Really Apple???

A day I will never forget? Try a day I will never remember because NOTHING exciting happened. What a major letdown. So, you have the Beatles catalogue. Means big money for Steve Jobs. But, I bet a majority of your iTunes users don't even know who Paul, Ringo, John or George are/were. Or, they just download the songs from their aunts CDs (because their aunts don't know how to use iTunes!), not buy them!

Sure, your ad got you the PR you deserve...but what will be the effect on future "big" announcements. I think I might sleep through them!

Will the world really change tomorrow? I hope so!

Riding the coattails of Facebook's big announcement today, Apple has its own big announcement from iTunes tomorrow...and I HOPE IT IS CLOUD STREAMING!! Free my music!

I am not sure iTunes could do much to rock my world, unless it is free downloads. It could be the announcement of a subscription-based service. Or maybe the Mac App Store (which isn't suppose to be released until the end of the month). Hopefully, it is iOS 4.2. Now that is something I need.

I will be plugged in at 10 AM (EST) to learn the news!

Facebook big announcement? Fresh or flop?

Facebook announced its new messaging system today. While not what I call a "Gmail Killer," the service does look intriguing. I think it will be the answer to Gmail's "Buzz" flop.  But, I think I may be too old to appreciate the "collective" messaging. I don't know about you, but I already get way too much email that I can't address properly. This just seems to add more information IN than I can handle.

I think I will stay with my GMAIL for now.

Facebook to introduce GMAIL killer???

Rumors are swirling that tomorrow (Monday, November 15, 10 AM PST) Facebook will release an email service aimed at crippling Gmail's hold on the industry. Known as Project Titan, this new email project is believed to be a product that will work outside of the "Facebook" site. Hopefully, the announcement will be an overhaul of Facebook's entire messaging services (which I don't like).

This project could also be part of a deal with Microsoft to incorporate Facebook functionality into Office applications...now that might be really interesting. But, how will this marriage work for those of use working for companies that have shut down Facebook access in the office?

What do you think? Will you move your email service to Facebook? I am not sure if I will...@facebook.com is a bit cheesy for anyone NOT working for the company. I am still a bit embarrassed at my age to say "I'm on Facebook" now, let alone have my personal email market my alligence.

But I can't wait for tomorrow!!!! (It is like an early Christmas Eve!) Things will sure be interesting!

Ripple effect of Limewire shut down

With Limewire having been shut down after a four-year legal battle with the US music industry, it should be no shock to see other applications failing to "connect" to the internet. This week I have seen a number of posts about Acquisition.  Seems like common sense...the application quit working the same time Limewire was shut down.

However, unlike Limewire's site, the Acquisition site still offers the software for download and purchase even though it won't connect. Now this is what needs to be stopped!

Can the Colorblind Really Read Your Web Site?

I was looking at a proposed company logo today and realized that the colors might be limiting to some of the company's clients. I found this really cool site people can use to see how a website would look if to a colorblind person.
